On microwave ovens

When they first came out, I had a knee-jerk, hippy-like aversion to microwave ovens. But I have to admit that having one is very convenient, especially for a single guy who doesn't really like to cook very much. I can warm up leftovers, and do a few other things with it that save me time. I can heat up one glass of water without the time and excess energy usuage that would be required if I put a pan of water on a burner on the stove.
