IBM memory of disliked teacher

One IBM memory I have is the first day of my Management Information Systems class when I was in college. I was so ignorant and behind the buzz words of the time, that I didn't know that MIS was another way of referring to computers. I thought it had to do with the flow of information in a corporation. Of course, that is part of it, but the class was learning about computers, and programming in COBOL. So I'm sitting there at the first class waiting for the teacher to show up, and when he walks in, the guy next to me says, "Shit!" and gets up and walks out. And he wasn't alone! A bunch of students would rather drop the course than take it with this teacher. Turns out he was under fire and about to lose tenure for his teaching.
