On CLA

I'm going to The Philippines soon and I'm been wondering something. I know that American beef and pork and egg yolks can contain arachadonic acid, and this is a very bad thing. But I've also heard that grass-fed cattle, hogs and chickens give meat and eggs high in Omega-3 fats. US animals aren't grass fed anymore. Philippines animals are, at least the ones from local farmers. I don't know whether or not they have any large feed lots similar to US mass production farming. It's good to eat higher amounts of Omega-3 fat, but would I still be eating too much arachadonic acid? Now I learn that grass fed animals have a lot of CLA which is also a healthy fat. So I'm thinking that when I get there it will be good to eat the meat and egg yolks that I avoid here in the US.

On vitamins for acne

Mmm, vitamins for acne -- that's probably an idea for a good book that might sell well on Amazon. By now, somebody must have figured out which nutrients help fight acne and what kinds of things that teenagers eat helps to give those that are vulnerable that dreaded condition. I suspect that excess carbs may be part of the problem, though I'm not sure. Teens certainly worried about acne long before our diets became as terrible as they are now. But it's also true that teens haven't eaten zone balanced diets since we left the caves ten thousand years ago, so maybe that's a factor. That combined with their new hormones raging in them manifests as acne.

On directory submission

I wonder how many people actually go look up sites in a website directory? I thought people either still used Google or looked up stuff on Digg or Technorati or Facebook or other social media sites? Yet there are a lot of website directories, and people putting up web sites pay people for directory submission, so their sites can be listed in the directories. That is one way for Google to find your new websites, and get some link juice. The best directories are very helpful. But DMOZ is a joke and nobody understands why Google gives it any credibility anymore, since it's totally dysfunctional in terms of evaluating new sites and adding them. It doesn't. It's not worth the time to make a submission.

On best HGH supplements

People should remember that when they're looking for the best hgh supplements, they're really looking for something that will enable them to get the benefit of the HGH that their pituitary glands are already producing but not releasing to the body. It's illegal in the US to sell real HGH itself without a prescription -- and it needs to be injected daily. And is extremely expensive. Still, the secretogues, certain proteins, allegedly encourage the pituitary to release more of the HGH it makes but, for some reason, slows down in releasing as we age. Which is why we have so little by the time people get really old. Which does make them look and feel their age.
