Interested in Raleigh real estate?

The capital of North Carolina and biggest city in the Triangle area of that state is Raleigh. Incredibly, it's home to the 2006 Stanley Cup of hockey winners. I'm here in St Louis where the ground is covered with ice and snow even though it's still very early winter, but our hockey team stinks.

But as a baby boomer who's thinking hard about leaving his job of 28+ years, I am also thinking hard about where I want to live. Where would my pension stretch farthest? Where could I live inexpensively, yet safely, and be able to have fun and be around people of all types and ages (I hate the thought of living in a retirement community -- everybody would be old!)

So Raleigh real estate seems to me as asset that will only grow in value. Many baby boomers will want to move there. They'll have big money from selling their big cities houses. Demand will be high.

Your Orlando pool home

I love to swim, and my first love was a swimming pool, since I grew up in the St Louis area, far from any ocean. And although people did swim in The Mississippi River, and I have, it really was dirty then.

Anyway, I didn't get to swim in the ocean until I went to Florida years later. Now I love the ocean and want to live near a tropical beach -- and will, one of these days.

But if you go to Orlando Florida, you're about one and a half hours away from the beach. So who wants to drive one and a half hours after you've spent the entire day at DisneyWorld and just wish to relax and have a quick swim in some cool water?

Nobody. That's why it's a terrific idea if you take your family to DisneyWorld to skip the hotels and rent an Orlando pool home. You'll have a pool of your own. More space than a hotel room. A kitchen to cook in.

be healthier and lose more weight with diet supplements

Let's face it -- dieting is hard work. It goes against our natural instinct. For the past two million years, eating as much as possible when food was available was a survival trait for human beings. Because as sure as the sun rose in the east, a time would soon come when the people had little or nothing to eat, and so they needed that stored nutrition and fat.

It's only been the past 100 years or so that we've gained enough control over the food supply (at least in the developed world) to make sure that food is almost always available.

So everytime you pass a fast food joint, you feel hungry -- because there's a cave man or woman inside you who wants to gorge on all the food they see.

Diet supplements can help us feel not so hungry and increase our ability to lose weight.

Viagra! Jump up and down for joy!

I remember seeing my first Viagra commercial on TV. But to understand my reaction, you have to remember that I have not watched network TV on a regular basis since early high school, a long time ago. I did watch ALL IN THE FAMILY, because I'd heard stories of how obscene it was (and it was, for its time. Little did we know that in 30 years it'd be replayed on a cable network for children.)

So I was unprepared for even the idea of a commercial shown during prime TV for a prescription drug for erectile dysfuntion.

It had a fairly old man running down the street and shouting for job. You're never told WHY he's jumping for joy, but of course we all know, since it's a commercial for Viagra. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

Then we wonder why kids are doing things we didn't even know about at their age. Because if they don't know why that man is jumping for joy, they'll ask friends and older siblings and somebody will know, and tell them, and they'll spread it around the entire school.
