On flight deals

With the rising cost of jet fuel, getting flight deals is more important than ever for travelers watching their budgets. Now airlines want to charge us to carry our baggage -- $15 per checked bag. It's a good thing I only fly with one carry on bag! But still -- they have that big storage area in the planes anyway, so they should use them, though it's true that the weight of the combined bags does affect the amount of fuel needed. And as somebody who travels light, I'd rather that passengers taking lots of heavy bags be charged for that, rather than have the cost spread throughout all passengers, including me who rarely checks any bags.
