On weight loss supplements

When it comes to weight loss supplements, I just finished putting up two websites on meal bars, especially those meeting or appearing to meet the 40/30/30 Zone nutrition of Dr. Barry Sears. He says we should eat 40% of our calories as carbohydrates, 30% as protein and 30% as fat. That's about what primitive people ate, and it's what our bodies are designed for. Before the Agricultural Revolution a mere 10,000 years ago, we ate lean meat from the animals we hunted and killed, plus insects, plus eggs in season, plus leaves and roots and fruits in season. Oh, and nuts in season. I just read in one book that primitive people didn't eat meat until relatively recently, because they didn't know how to hunt it. I doubt that's true. Also, I've read that sites of primitive people contain many skeletons of small rodents.
