No bunk beds at this sleepover

When I was in the first or second grade or so, I spent the night with one of my female classmates, a girl named Nancy. Of course we didn't do anything -- she didn't even have bunk beds, and I wouldn't have known what to do if it were even possible. I'm not so sure about Nancy, since I always remember her as being more precocious and knowledgeable about the world. I don't even recall that we were that close as friends, so I don't even know why she asked me. It's possible that she knew it'd be "shocking" to ask a boy to sleep over at her house and just happened to choose me. I'm not sure why both her parents and my mother agreed to it. I don't even recall whatever we did - watch TV or play games, I suppose.

Oh, for a great Florida rental vacation

I've been day dreaming recently of taking my (large) extended family down to DisneyWorld for a Florida rental vacation. We could take out a bunch of condos that are close together (hotel rooms would be very expensive, probably wouldn't be together, and besides the children are active and noisy and need a larger physical area or they'd be wandering around everywhere. We could use the pool and cook together. And of course visit DisneyWorld, go to the beach and see many of the other attractions in and around Orlando.

Buy world series tickets in St Louis in 2007?

Living in St Louis right now, it's a difficult time to think about whether we are going to be able to buy world series tickets again this October. The Cardinals are having a very rough year. Josh Billings ran his car and himself into a tow truck on Highway 40 late one night. (The tow truck had stopped to protect a stalled car. If it hadn't been there, Billings probably would have killed the guy in the car whose car was stalled. He was drunk and talking on a cell phone -- a bad combination at 12:30 in the morning. Heck, manager Tony LaRussa was found asleep at the wheel of his car, drunk, during spring training. And Chris Carpenter has had elbow problems. Doesn't look good for the world series 2007.
