On kitchen faucets

I also recently watched The Magnificent Seven for the first time, though the music was so familiar it must have been copied for other westerns. I don't recall seeing any of the sequels or the TV show made from it. But the first movie is a remake of Akira Kurosawa's great movie The Seven Samurai. A small village in Mexico hires seven gringo gunslingers to protect them from a gang of banditos preying on them. It's a story as old as agriculture, actually predating what we'd call civilization, though it has a happier ending than most, since the village survives on its own, without either the banditos or gunslingers becoming their feudal lord. It's a place too poor for its people to have kitchen faucets or any other modern appliances.
